Накопительный страховой полис (страхование-вклад) (endowment assurance policy), по которому страхователь решил досрочно прекратить выплату страховых взносов. Возникшая в результате выкупная стоимость (сумма отказа) (surrender value) не возвращается, однако, страхователю в наличной форме, а используется для оплаты ему полиса пожизненного страхования (whole (of) life policy). Таким образом, страховая ответственность пожизненного страхования продолжает действовать (хотя и в уменьшенном масштабе), а держатель полиса освобождается от необходимости выплачивать взносы. Если первоначально приобретенный полис является доходным (страховой полис с прибылью) (with-profit policy), то внесенные вплоть до момента прекращения уплаты взносы включаются в выкупную стоимость. Если же это полис, связанный с паевым фондом, то разрешается повышение стоимости составляющих его элементов до конца срока его действия.
